Advocacy & Practical Advice

Practical information and support.

Our Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVA) provide practical support around issues such as benefits, health assessments, housing, homelessness and immigration.

Plan of action

Your ISVA can provide information and support on issues such as:

  • Housing and homelessness
  • Benefits
  • Immigration
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Debt

Your ISVA will meet with you to assess your needs. Together you can prioritise the issues you would like to address and put in place a plan of action.

Your ISVA can write supporting letters, telephone and advocate with agencies on your behalf, fill in forms and accompany you to appointments if necessary.

Your ISVA will provide a safe space and informal emotional support but is not a counsellor.
